The Perfect Revelation of the Lord

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

1 Theheavens declare the glory of God;

# And thefirmament shows His handiwork.

2 Day unto day utters speech,

And night unto night reveals knowledge.

3 Thereisno speech nor language

Wheretheir voice is not heard.

4 Their line has gone out through all the earth,

And their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,

5 Whichislike a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

# Andrejoices like a strong man to run its race.

6 Its risingisfrom one end of heaven,

And its circuit to the other end;

And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The law of theLordisperfect, converting the soul;

# The testimony of theLordissure, makingwise the simple;

8 The statutes of theLordareright, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of theLordispure, enlightening the eyes;

9 The fear of theLordisclean, enduring forever;

The judgments of theLordaretrueandrighteous altogether.

10 More to be desiredaretheythangold,

Yea, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,

Andin keeping themthereisgreat reward.

12 Who can understandhiserrors?

# Cleanse me from secretfaults.

13 Keep back Your servant also frompresumptuoussins;

# Let them not havedominion over me.

Then I shall be blameless,

And I shall be innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight,

# OLord, my strength and myRedeemer.

1 Vindicateme, OLord,

# For I havewalked in my integrity.

# I have also trusted in theLord;

3 For Your lovingkindnessisbefore my eyes,

# AndI have walked in Your truth.

4 I have notsat with idolatrous mortals,

Nor will I go in with hypocrites.

5 I havehated the assembly of evildoers,

And will not sit with the wicked.

6 I will wash my hands in innocence;

So I will go about Your altar, OLord,

7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,

And tell of all Your wondrous works.

8 Lord,I have loved the habitation of Your house,

And the place where Your glory dwells.

9 Do not gather my soul with sinners,

10 In whose handsisa sinister scheme,

# And whose right hand is full ofbribes.

An Exuberant Declaration of Faith

A

Psalm

of David.

1 TheLordismylight and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

# TheLordisthe strength of my life;

Of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked came against me

# Toeat up my flesh,

My enemies and foes,

They stumbled and fell.

3 Though an army may encamp against me,

My heart shall not fear;

Though war may rise against me,

In this Iwillbeconfident.

4 OnethingI have desired of theLord,

That will I seek:

# That I maydwell in the house of theLord

All the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of theLord,

And to inquire in His temple.

5 Forin the time of trouble

He shall hide me in His pavilion;

In the secret place of His tabernacle

He shall hide me;

# He shallset me high upon a rock.

6 And nowmy head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;

Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;

I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to theLord.

7 Hear, OLord,whenI cry with my voice!

Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 WhenYousaid,“Seek My face,”

My heart said to You, “Your face,Lord, I will seek.”

9 Do not hide Your face from me;

Do not turn Your servant away in anger;

You have been my help;

Do not leave me nor forsake me,

O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me,

Then theLordwill take care of me.

11 Teach me Your way, OLord,

And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.

12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;

# Forfalse witnesses have risen against me,

And such as breathe out violence.

13 Iwouldhavelostheart,unless I had believed

That I would see the goodness of theLord

# In the land of the living.

14 Wait on theLord;

Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart;

Wait, I say, on theLord!
